Medical AI Promotion Institute (headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yuki Shimahara, Sho Kawabe; hereinafter “MAPI”) is pleased to announce a partnership with ANA Healthcare (headquartered in France; hereinafter “ANA Healthcare”), a healthcare data platform company, for the mutual utilization of medical data. Through this partnership, both companies will leverage their respective regional networks to promote global access to medical data.

[Background and Objectives]

Access to data from diverse regions and populations is an essential component of medical AI development and clinical trial design. However, medical data in each country is not easily accessible from abroad due to differences in legal regulations and business practices.

MAPI specializes in the processing and management of medical data, supporting both the healthcare institutions that provide data and the companies and researchers that utilize it. ANA Healthcare, through its proprietary platform “ANA Cohort,” provides automated services for searching, anonymizing, and extracting medical data from over 100 healthcare institutions primarily in Europe (France, Spain, etc.) and Latin America.

The purpose of this partnership is to leverage the regional complementarity of both companies to provide clients with one-stop access to medical data in the regions they need.

[Partnership Details]

Supporting Global Medical Data Access Through Mutual Referrals Between MAPI and ANA Healthcare

Under this partnership, MAPI will refer clients in the Japanese market who have demand for European and Latin American data to ANA Healthcare, while ANA Healthcare will refer clients in the European and Latin American markets who have demand for Japanese medical data to MAPI.

The target data includes imaging data centered on CT, MR, ultrasound, and X-ray, along with associated clinical data. Both companies will leverage their respective expertise in regional regulatory compliance and data quality management to appropriately address clients’ data needs.

[Future Outlook]

Through this partnership, both companies will promote the following initiatives:

• Establishing a multi-region data provision framework spanning Japan, Europe, and Latin America
• Contributing to global clinical trials and AI development projects for pharmaceutical and medical device companies
• Expanding the scope of data access by leveraging both companies’ partner networks

Following its partnership with U.S.-based Segmed, MAPI is building a global data partnership network covering Japan, the United States, Europe, and Latin America through this partnership with ANA Healthcare.
